Born in France, Céline moved to New York City in April 1997.
Influenced by Boards Of Canada and My Bloody Valentine she had the opportunity to meet there numerous famous artists from the US and also Europe with whom she collaborates on this album including Funckarma, Ulrich Schnauss, EU, Mr Projectile, Displacer, David Michael ... The result of the meeting of these talented musicians and the wonderful voice of Céline is an incredible debut release that ranges from electronica to trip-hop. Moreover Céline has already performed in France (with Robin Guthrie from the Cocteau Twins) and in the USA (New York, Chicago ...).

Bienvenue dans un monde de pureté où tout semble parfait : chaque pierre, chaque brin d'herbe, chaque grain de sable est à sa place, le ciel est bleu, l'eau turquoise, l'air est frais et chargé d'une bonne odeur de rose... Un monde parfait où les anges viennent vous saluer à votre arrivée. Une image qui s'impose à nous à l'écoute de cet "Elapsed Time", premier album de la française Céline. Une voix pure, angélique, d'une limpidité étonnante, qui vient se poser, doucement, sur du down tempo piqué de sons breakbeat ("Lovely", "Fish", "In the sun"...) donnant à l'ensemble un petit côté expérimental à la Björk période "Homogenic" des plus réussis, accentué par un chant rappellant celui de la belle islandaise sur "Daydream". On regrettera juste par moment une certaine naïveté juvénile dans les textes qui semblent parfois un peu trop "cul-cul-la-praloche", notamment sur les deux titres en français "Un rêve" et "Attendre", mais pas seulement. Par contre musicalement, tout est assez plaisant et pour ce faire, Céline a su s'entourer d'un paquet de bon musiciens parmis lesquels David Michael, Mr Projectile, Nate Harrison et Displacer. Très agréable.
